Once again buses from the past 60 years will be put back into service in the Wakefield area giving you the chance to ride on Britain’s Motoring Heritage.
Regular services will link the City Centre and Normanton with Heath Common, along with some special trips and Mystery Tours.
Selection of Trade Stalls selling all manner of transport related items including Pressbus Bus and Coach Preservation stall
Full colour event programme will be available for just £3.00 giving full time-tables, details of vehicles attending and all essential information you need to plan your day. These will be available on the day at Heath Common.
Refreshments will also be available at Heath Common from the refreshment stand, Kings Arms Public House and not forgetting the Ice Cream van.
A small children’s fun fair will also be in attendance so there is something for everyone at Heath Common 2019.
How to get there:
By Car
Heath Common is easy to find just of the A655 Castleford Road about 2½ miles south of Wakefield. We have ample parking available on site. Sat Nav uses please enter the Post Code WF1 5SL
By Train
Wakefield is served by two stations Kirkgate and Westgate.
Kirkgate has direct services to/from Barnsley, Sheffield, Nottingham, Castleford and Leeds
Westgate has services from London, South West, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh
Wakefield Bus Station is a short walk from the station.
By Bus
Arriva Yorkshire operate many services to Wakefield from the surrounding areas. A Day Ticket currently costs just £5.00. Service 188 passes right outside Heath Common.
Stagecoach operate from Barnsley
Yorkshire Tiger also operate some service into Wakefield

Our regular services will operate as follows
First bus from Wakefield Bus Station 1000
From Normanton Market Place 1130
The usual mystery trips and tours will operate which will culminate in the annual Motorway Express run later in the afternoon. This one of very few chances you will get to ride on the Motorway in a preserved PSV.
As of 3rd July we have over 20 buses and coaches attending along with approx. 200 classic cars. We still have room for more and everyone is welcome.
Feeder services
Bradford - Wakefield - Heath Common
This service will operate following the A650 and will observe all Mero bus stops.
Please signal clearly to the driver you wish the bus to stop.

The return journey will be at 1630 from Heath Common.
This service is schedule to be operated by West Riding Leyland Tiger 724.
Additional feeders will be advertised as they become available
Previous events
We have a great selection of buses on display and in service with vehicles from further afield joining in the fun. 2016 marked the return of an open-topper which as ever proved very popular with visitors.
Highlight of the day was the reuniting of two 64 year old ladies West Riding Leyland Tiger coaches 724 and 725 EHL 335/6 which have not been seen together since they were withdrawn in 1965.
